Impressive new site of extreme sports brand Airwalk. Nicely designed with smooth transitions and good layout, importantly it is an example of what non-Flash sites can achieve – it may not be super amazing in terms of animation and transitions etc, however it is a good benchmark of what is possible!

Simple & slick branding site from Mercedes Benz USA. Featuring an array of videos and images wrapped around a smart 3d interface. I really like the 3d menu system that is very modern and sleek but remaining easy and fun to use. Some nice content here too, all with a thick layer of polish.
Interesting site trying to change our perception and attitude towards cancer. Encouraging the fight against cancer you can post images, text, and so on. Set in a 3d interface with all the comments and photos floating up in 3d space which you can interact with, it looks great and works nicely. Nice ‘fun’ idea, inspiring message, and well executed.

Site of photographer Brandon Savoy. Simple and minimal this site shows full screen photography with a very clean interface which works nicely. The animation is very fluid and allows you to watch a slideshow of his work. Does the job well, simple, clean and good looking.

If I can Dream – website documenting the stories of 5 young people chasing their dreams in Hollywood. Set in a Big Brother esque house with cameras everywhere – as the viewer you can go to several of the rooms and choose a camera and be a voyeur. Set within a 3d navigation and with a really nice interface design, you navigate to different areas within a fluid 3d box. One of nicest and smoothest uses of 3D I have ever seen, the 3d doesn’t get in the way of anything and just adds to the whole experience. Loads of attention to detail, I love all the little rollovers and icons, the 3d transitions are amazing. Great design, very complicated build, slick animation, all in all a fantastic looking and very impressive website.

Portfolio of Canadian photographer Jean Malek. Full screen photography, zoomed in so you can see all the details and pan around. Interesting navigation based around triangles that unfold to reveal the next photo and also form the menu. Nice buttons, cool animations and transitions.

Interesting concept for a new coffee bean brand ‘Black Sunshine’. Based from a FPS perspective you go underground the meet a ‘drug’ dealer, look at the product, and order online your favourite morning ‘drug’. All shot from your perspective looking around the shady underground dealings of ‘the dealer’. Love the perspective panning with the video, they make it a little bigger than the screen so you can slightly pan around to see the scene – brings a really in depth feeling. Love the art direction and the how the buttons float around following your view. They have made these coffee beans very desirable by just making it very cool and very funny…

Site promoting the new Nike CP3.III basketball trainers with the help of Chris Paul – basketball player. Slick dark interface, which offers the option to watch Chris Paul in action or check out the trainers. Lots of nice parallax visual effects to give a really cool feeling of depth, love the lens flare effect behind it all – bleaching out your view slightly. Really cool 360 of the shoe and 3d effects on the details. Very slick…

Site promoting the exhibition of Mexican artist, Gabriel Orozco at MoMA. Really nice example of a dynamic gallery that pans around with your mouse movement. I also like the way things move around when you click on one of the thumbnails, and the clear concise navigation and nice animations.
Simple, elegant site promoting the launch of ‘The White Ribbon’, a new film directed by Michael Haneke. A slideshow introduces the film via a few stills nicely animated along with quotes from the media. Overall a simple site that gives a nice ambience that suits the film well.

Set in a minimal interface Andrew Zuckerman’s photography comes to life, with the vibrant colours and dynamism of his subjects shining through. Beautiful photography in a great setting, I like the way the menu minimises to really focus on the photography.
