Temporary Stedelijk

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Interesting site showing the latest modern art on offer from Holland, lacking a building for young innovative artists to display Amber van den Enden and Kalle Mattsson decided to offer a website refreshed often showcasing new art. The site itself is minimal and really allows you the chance to explore the art works rather like a large draggable magazine with videos and images. I particularly like the click and drag navigation, shortcut on the left, smartly arranged like we see on the site, I like the grey dashed line leading you through the exhibits. Pretty cool…

Trench Trip

Short movie & site promoting Japanese label United Arrows. I like the site after the film, presented like a credit roll to a film, another scrolling site – but this one is really nicely done, love the little animations for each part as you transition into them. Nice touches of detail such as the motion blur, sounds and so on as you scroll, bucking the current trend to execute this in Javascript this is all Flash based.

Undercover – Uniqlo

Colloboration between Uniqlo and Japanese fashion brand Undercover. Using the visual navigational metaphor of Google maps to allow you to explore and zoom into the various clothes on show in the quirky paintings / photos. Just a nice way of showing fashion in an interesting way, another typically fun and playful site from Uniqlo.

PARTY

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Best described by their website – ‘PARTY is a “Creative Lab” based in Tokyo and New York, founded by 5 Creative Directors, Naoki Ito, Morihiro Harano, Qanta Shimizu, Hiroki Nakamura, and Masashi Kawamura.’ Essentially 5 really talented creative directors working on some really nice, innovative projects. I like the strips on the homepage representing their projects – stretched over time, nice visually strong idea. For the rest they have some really nice projects and its well worth taking a look, definitely one to watch.
