Site of French interactive studio Werkstatt. Beautiful scrolling system for looking through their portfolio – quite original. Like the way they present the projects through videos and in-situ screenshots. Great design and all crafted to high standards.

SISAN

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Portfolio of Japanese agency SISAN. Interesting tag based navigation, that turns images into respective tags which link through their whole portfolio and what they did for each project. Love the way the background image turns into tags and the way they link through to each project. A very unique and creative way of exploring their work. Very cool!

Kurylowicz & Associates

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Portfolio of Polish architects Kurylowicz & Associates. Their case studies are arranged across the screen and each have tags with lines drawing from the tags to each project, all in all giving a detailed precise feel. The animations and transitions are smart & slick and the detail is very high, each project is tagged with the architects and loads of info. Really smart interface and design..

hellodave!

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Site of Scandinavian agency hellodave! Set in a slick dark interface with 3d panels flying around moving with your cursor. By clicking on the thumbnails all of the panels reorganise to show a video player for that project. Really nice animations and transitions – love the camera movement with your mouse – it is very very smooth, and the shading and lighting is well executed. Very nice…

Panoplie – Artificial Emotions

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Website of French agency Panolie. Pretty interesting, standard layout but all with a twist and some injected personality. The scrolling up and down also brings weird blobs and interactive things onto screen, all adding a nice feeling of depth. Clicking on a project and clicking left/right shows a really cool 3d cloth effect. Nice attention to detail and a bit different.

Grimm Gallun Holtappels

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Website of Grimm Gallun Holtappels, German agency. Combining real environment and 3d interactive objects this site really comes alive. Travelling through what looks like an office, thumbnails of their projects can be dragged along through the space and expanded to find out more. By clicking on the coloured boxes you can explore lots of different areas, the zoom function is really cool as well. I love the motion tracking of the 3d objects and the faux camera / POV movement. The animation is super smooth, with an amazing level of detail and timing. It looks great also, with every button and feature well considered and designed. Love it!

TYA – STRATEGIC CREATIVE

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Portfolio of Japanese agency TYA. Set in a floating 3d space which is explorable through mouse movements. The ‘creative’ section highlights their work, with thumbnails moving through a floating space – allowing you to sit back and watch the projects float past. Nice camera movement and cool transitions and animation.

Beautifully simple portfolio of ‘Full Size Image’. Using pixels of light that move around to form text and thumbnails – each project scrolling past and regenerated by pixels on the homepage. Love the movement of all the pixels and simplicity of it all.

Momkai

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Portfolio of Amsterdam based digital agency Momkai. Very simple layout that works really nicely, they also show a vast amount of work, which you can choose to see if you wish – so it’s not presented in an intrusive way. Many little touches and cool animations that complete the whole package.

Pill & Pillow

pill and pillow-2009

New portfolio site of Hong Kong based agency Pill & Pillow. Very simple with some nice touches, a Flash based, blog esque layout with tags and social content, pulled in from sources such as YouTube. I like the 3d screwed up balls of paper that represent their projects and the way they reveal, also some really nice work in here, lots of experimental work too. Well put together and looks pretty cool and minimal.

Bleed

bleed

Website of Norwegian design consultancy Bleed. Pretty cool website, all the things you would expect from a polished agency portfolio – but with a bit more attitude, love all the rollover effects and the clean simple animation style. They showcase their work in a really clean elegant way.

Silenzio

silenzio

Interesting portfolio of French movie poster studio and marketing agency Silenzio. What makes this so accomplished is the animation and the 3d thumbnails of the posters, visually it is attractive and the animation really brings it to life. Nicely structured the posters can also be organised by alphabetical order, or explored through a 3d wall. Very cool…

Design is Kinky Studio

design is kinky

Simple, but cool website of Sydney based studio Design is Kinky. Showcase of their work laid out big and bold – you move around panning your view of the work – which provides a nice colourful overview of their work. I like the large imagery and layout it gives a good impression of the kind of work they do, nice and simple, but with a twist, cool.

magneticNorth

magneticNorth

New portfolio site of British digital agency magneticNorth. Nice approach, using gesture recognition i.e. draw a line and you see news, draw a circle and we see a project. We’ve seen gesture recognition before but what I like about this one is the slickness & simplicity of it all – it just works. When drawing a circle to get a project the shape you draw becomes the mask for the content, where the video / screen grabs then appear in that area.

Created by themselves, Brendan Dawes is the creative director – that kinda helps getting visual concepts like this working!
