AnonymousAnonymous Anonymous

Portfolio site of Anonymous, Paris based digital production agency. Really cool site, fresh and modern – with lots of nice touches. Love the masking of the thumbnails and the splitting of the page to reveal the project detail inline – clicking and dragging through the images – gives it all an ‘appy’ feel. Really like the way they have arranged the projects chronologically and scrolling reveals a sticky element showing year following the scroll bar. Some amazing work in there too, all presented in an interesting way in a cool interface.

Control Films

control-1control-2control-3

Simple and clean portfolio site of Control Films a boutique commercial / music video production agency based in Paris. Minimal layout and elegant concept – thumbnails play when interacted with, and when pressed scrolls you back to the top of the page where the video splits the page and begins playing. Clean and minimal and does the job well.

YCN Studio YCN Studio YCN Studio

Portfolio site of London based design shop YCN Studio. Minimal & clean site which does the job really well in a quick and effective way. Really like the way the information linked to the project scrolls with the visuals, and the next project fades in from below. Incredibly simple and elegant.

Diesel 5 Pockets Male

Diesel 5 Pockets Male

Diesel 5 Pockets Male

Nice site for Diesel and their ‘5 Pockets’ jean collection for men. Browse the type of jeans from textured, light, and blue – bringing you the range through a vertical scroll layout. Looking at the detail reveals a quasi-3d effect, with the model  static but small graphic elements re-acting to your mouse position. Like the transitions from overview to detail view and the interesting layout and cool effects.

WeLoveNoise WeLoveNoise WeLoveNoise

New portfolio site for Luke Finch, interactive Art Director. Nice offset grid with well considered imagery, clean and minimal layout – with accompanying visuals to explain responsive behaviour and so on. Like the homepage where you pan your view based on mouse position, and the clear transition to view the project. A really diverse body of too, from snowboard graphics to responsive website design. Great example of modern polished portfolio site…

Wrangler Spring / Summer 2013

Site promoting the Male 2013 Spring / Summer collection of Wrangler Europe. Essentially a really cool interactive gallery of models wearing the clothing line. Featuring semi-surreal scenes where the movement of your cursor controls your perspective and when you click and drag you control the movement of the model – so from rotating, to moving across the screen. The execution is fantastic, love the 3d style perspective which can be influenced by your mouse – really adds to the feeling of depth. Really cool animations and a thick layer of polish…

The Messi Matrix

Messi Matrix

Messi Matrix

Messi Matrix

Fascinating site showing football player Messi’s stats – all centred around a 3d exploratory interface. Fantastic execution, with a 3d football and animated infographics, love moving around and panning the viewpoint. Love the transition from ball view to information view – the ball explodes revealing the information. The attention to detail is incredible, even when you change the timescale the figures on the ball update accordingly. At certain angles lens flares glow, with dust particles moving around all in all great experiential site.

Tanlines - Not The Same

Tanlines - Not The Same

Tanlines - Not The Same

Fun interactive music video presenting you with keyed out videos of the various tracks in the song – all wrapped up in an old school Photoshop interface. You can turn on and off the various tracks i.e. vocal, guitar, keyboard and so on – and also change the background to a life fish tank, NYC, Jupiter and so on. Irreverent and playful, a fun interactive music video.

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Japanese site of label Rollin’, described as “Creative director Daisuke Iwashita presents his collection for the label and offers backstage video, accessories gallery, and stockist information”. Not 100% sure about the product but the site is pretty cool. Love the simple, minimal design and the transitions and animation – particularly on the section ‘collection’ – when pressed it scrolls at speed through all of the images. I also like the off-canvas style transition to reveal product info, again all wrapped up in a simple design with cool animation.

Iuqo

Site of Izaias Caualcanti & Anderson Barros – developers / designers from Brazil, this is their portfolio site. Nicely designed with big typography and mask reveal transitions. Little bit of confusing UE design, but it is fun to navigate and from a  layout perspective very cool.

Ittetsu Matsuoka

Ittetsu Matsuoka Ittetsu Matsuoka Ittetsu Matsuoka

Portfolio site of Tokyo based photographer Ittetsu Matsuoka. Very minimal interface, essentially explored by scrolling – love the homepage where you scroll and it loads in images from Flickr by the photographer – the interface stays in place. This is a recurring theme – scrolling isn’t what you might traditionally expect – here it explores the images acting as next / back type action. I love the use of white space and the transparency / overlapping – it also uses an interesting vertical dot system for navigating the projects once within ‘project’.

Heine/Lenz/Zizka

Nice site for Heine / Lenz / Zizka – a German branding studio. Presented in a large grid of projects which you can zoom in and out of to explore the range of work they have created. Clicking on projects allows you to drill down and look through the various designs, love the way when you move your mouse to one side the screen slightly moves to illustrate there is more to explore. Really nice layout and works nicely – fun to explore and good to look at!

ELI

Portfolio of Danish photo retouching studio ELI. One of my favourite features of the site is the way you navigate through the images in each section – scrolling within one of the strips or dragging the title bar. Love the transitions between sections with well considered animation and all wrapped up in a clean and minimal interface.
