Yet another cool Uniqlo site promoting their new range of technical outerwear. Featuring videos of people walking and wearing the items demonstrating their key features through animated rain for example, all done in a fun and stylish way. Love the scrolling gallery of features for the particular item – very well thought out. As usual high quality Flash production with a touch of fun and style.

Strange project for Domino’s Japan – to place a Domino’s branch on the moon. Very tongue in cheek – nicely made site complete with look and feel & ambience as if from a space station. Not sure what it is all about but the site is fun and promises more content soon.
Portfolio of multidisciplinary design and marketing firm based in Japan. Simple minimal interface with nice scrolling navigation – easy to use, clean and efficient. Like the almost parallax style navigation.

Loosely promoting Adidas Skin Protection, the site is essentially a football game utilising Twitter. The more followers you have the more powerful you are – you can play other Twitter users or the computer. Really simple game using the spacebar to build up power. Really mad art direction akin to an arthouse animation film with crazy animation and sinister sound fx. They have made something quite simple into something fascinating simply through the mad execution!
Another nice minimal site for Uniqlo to promote their new global flagship store in New York. Featuring NYC residents talking about their city – video, maps, and text. The site nicely scrolls by in typical Japanese fashion, sweet, clean, and smooth. Nice example of displaying a lot of information and making it all entertaining.

Beautiful site promoting Nissan’s ideas of a zero emissions future. Featuring an interactive 3d world full of cute characters featuring interactive demos of how renewable energy can be used, all through the control of a small plug like character – you explore the world as you wish. Very similar to the stunning ‘Ecodazoo’, it is in fact directed by the same guy ROKIX. I love the way you control the main character and the 3d world is beautifully realised as are the characters. Incredible attention to detail and amazingly crafted and fun to use – all in all amazing.
Music video from Japanese band Androp. Using 250 Canon EOS DSLR cameras to take photos as they band performs their song ‘Bright Siren’. The flash units all fire off synchronised to make swooping patterns and effects – the resulting images stream across the bottom of the screen as the video plays. Love the way the images appear on the bottom – could be more interactive but the result looks great. Another cool music video which works on and off the web.
Beautiful screensaver for Japanese interior design firm Wonderwall. This screensaver is to celebrate an exhibition showcasing Wonderwall’s work. Thumbnails from the projects scroll past with the name of the firm, and small lines drawing the word constantly redraw, taking the colour from the pixels in the photograph making a stunning effect. Nice minimal interface and smooth animation where it all scrolls past all combine to make a sublime screensaver.

Incredible detailed site that is like an interactive museum of the old handheld games. I can only imagine the amount of time and effort that has gone into this amazing creation. They have taken high res photos and reproduced the games down to the sounds for each game – really amazing.

Funky experience, an interactive music video from the Japanese band Sour. A mixture of all kinds of media and APIs, connects with Facebook, Twitter and even your webcam for a tailor made site. Uses Flash & HTML5 all together, love the image mosaic and the dancing man made of google images. Sadly it only works in Chrome or Safari but it is worth it. All great fun and it makes you smile.

Stunning interactive Anime experience which warns teenagers of the dangers of smoking. Featuing Koji Morimoto’s Anime style the story unfolds of the ‘attraction’ to smoking, in a uniquely Japanese way of an interactive video – when prompted you can look around or make decisions – all very basic but nicely done. Really quite strange but very beautiful.
Super slick site promoting Casio’s G’zone One tough mobile phone. Featuring lots of slick transitions and full video backdrops for each section highlighting the phone features. Look and feel and animation is all good, love the transitions, slick and smooth.

Portfolio of Japanese agency SISAN. Interesting tag based navigation, that turns images into respective tags which link through their whole portfolio and what they did for each project. Love the way the background image turns into tags and the way they link through to each project. A very unique and creative way of exploring their work. Very cool!
Nice little site for Japanese label Original Fake. Very slick and fast animation bringing to life a minimal interface. You can view the collection or look at the newest additions to the set, view by grid or by full screen. The zoom function is well implemented, and the fast smooth transitions are really nice.
