Brice Darmon

Fantastic portfolio of Parisian photographer Brice Darmon. The homepage shows a multi-layered layout that shows some highlights from each project – click on a project fills the screen with a cool transition that shows an interesting approach – the background image is the next image and the photo in the centre can be enlarged. Love all the cool interaction and transitions, roll over the right or left and the next or previous photo peeks, even the top and bottom peeks to show the next or previous projects. Also love all the masking transitions, looks and feels so slick – the animations are well considered and bring the static shots to life. Great example of modern photography portfolio site.

Site of CROWD, a Barcelona and London based studio that have a diverse body of work. Very colourful and bold styling, and a very simple site that links out to Behance projects or has embedded Vimeo videos. Nice to see something a bit different for a agency portfolio.

Portfolio site of 3D Artist & Illustator Benoit Challand. Really nice portfolio of work wrapped up in a responsive site sprinkled with elements of delight. Love the main screen with the bold typographic layout highlighting latest project with the remainder of the projects sitting below in a fun multi layer layout. Really nice palette of colour highlights for the projects and I love the transitions to and from the various sections. Really fresh, modern, and well executed example of a portfolio site.

Site of Active Theory a digital production house in Venice, CA. Their body of work is impressive and is wrapped up in a nicely done, nicely animated site. Love the labs section – where you can see their dabbling in Web GL / Javascript experiments – also nicely shown on the homepage with the undulating interactive circles.

Site of John Iacoviello a software developer based in Canada. Based around a 3d box that represents the different sections of the site when clicked performs the ol’ glitch effect – nice to see it done in Javascript / Canvas. Some nice touches here and there and good to see a portfolio not adhering to the standard template.

Nice new site for Pollen a branding and design agency for the fashion sector. Responsive, modern site – love the slide out menu and the slick transitions / preloader to the individual projects. Nicely laid out the offset grid maintaining it visually interesting throughout. Individual stories for each of the projects offering moodboards, user journeys and so on make it a bit different to the mainstream portfolio site. Nice.

Site of German digital agency Artificial Rome. Nice offset grid style layout, and an interesting way of having elements ‘stick’ to the top of the browser as you scroll, providing context for what you are viewing. Some nice transitions here and there, but on the whole quite minimal and considered. I like the amount of white space and the layout which creates interest as you scroll the page.

New responsive portfolio site of agency Huge Inc. Really stripped back and to the point, I like the homepage where the 3 best / latest projects are shown – all within or featured around a giant ‘H’. The featured projects give across a hint of the work and the process, like the key stats section. Love the menu – large overlay with big typography and a pink overlay – really cool.

Simple animations add a nice element of movement when you visit the different projects, and the story told for each project is interesting. Nice images and nicely flowing design create the pages, all in all a nice example of an agency portfolio.
