Lovely site of band J.Roddy Walston & The Business, and their song “Same Days” – this is their interactive music video. Love the build up of video and the way the interactive element – dragging around – mimics the video itself to create a kind of illusion. Very simple, but beautifully done, short and sweet.

Nice video experience running through the key features of the new Lincoln MKC. Set from a first person perspective you join your friend in a chase to find a missing wallet – conveniently using all the new features of the car! Nicely done, you can pan around your viewpoint – to look around the scene – makes for a more immersive experience. The key features are pulled out, and demonstrated in the film, you can pause and find out more in a non-obtrusive way. Overall a really nice example of using video & a story to bring a car to life.

Site promoting the new film ‘The Quiet Ones’. Essentially an interactive trailer that takes you through the premise of the film, through short interactive scenes – i.e. opening the door, turning on the lights etc. Lots of ambient sound fx, full bleed videos and imagery really provide an immersive experience – much better than a basic site with the cast / stills / trailer and so on.

Micro site to promote the new game ‘Watch Dogs’ through a psuedo real site of the city wide security operating system shown in the game. Brought to life through animated info graphics, animation, and transitions. In a similar vein to the Meet Your MX site where a whole world is created around a product or service. Looks good and is a nice use of animation and an interesting approach to promoting a new computer game.

Site promoting the new Wes Anderson film ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ – through the guise of on an online course ‘Akademie Zubrowka’ to learn about world of the film. All done through the style of a projector – with lens blur and sliding transitions. Loads of lovely details such as looking at the individual items – zooming in on them. It looks great and the overall visual style of site is quite distinct and matches the film and posters well – really nice example of a film promo site.

Interesting idea – to take the an Ibis Hotel bed to the summit of ‘Devil’s Mountain’ for the ultimate night’s sleep. Following a format of a travel / expedition short film – with an interactive timeline, extras and a really cool 3d map. It is a surprisingly sophisticated interactive experience considering the client and subject matter – with loads of transitions / sliding panels / and cool animations. A fantastic example of a modern, sophisticated interactive film.

Nice video site promoting the new Gran Turismo 6 game. From the perspective of Mario Andretti famous driver, and his first love for a special car – the Hudson. Nice video story, with a nice full screen experience with sliding panels showing chapters and so on. Like the way the menus appear – smooth transitions to and from the main screen showing the main story.

Micro site promoting ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ a new film released this summer. Some nice touches such as ambient noises and video, to put across a mood – with some cool interactions to explore the two main scenes. It also works responsively – although the desktop experience relies on rollovers – it still works and is nice to see people trying something other than long scrolling parallax pages.

Promotional site for new TV show ‘Almost Human’ a cop show set in the future. Featuring a ‘realistic’ look at the ‘MX’ model of the cybernetic cop. Love all of the little details, such as the animated movie hotspots and the nice page navigation. Cool little info-graphics and little interactive touches and things to explore. Really like the layout and although it’s another example of scrolling page design – it’s a really good one!

The 2013 version of Summer Under the Stars, a campaign site promoting TV movie channel TCM’s summer schedule. Focussing on the range of famous movie stars of a time gone by. Love the homepage carousel of profiles of the stars, scrolling goes into their respective bios, with a nicely designed scene summarising the actor.  Nice little section on what makes that person legendary too. Overall really slick transitions and animations from section to section, nice art direction and fun to play around with.
