Beautiful site promoting a historic Monet exhibition at the Grand Palais, Paris in 2010. The site aims to bring Monet’s paintings to life, there is an interactive journey through Monet’s life and a gallery with his paintings. Great functionality when zooming into the paintings – fantastic attention to detail. I love the gallery section and the general look and feel – bright colours on canvas – esque backgrounds, lovely transitions, well integrated video – all wrapped up in a smart well designed interface.

A small interactive art project all in pixel style which projects the imaginary thoughts of a sleep girl into a never ending canvas of animations. I like it’s simplicity, the animations are fantastic, simple and beautiful.

Interactive music video using the latest HTML 5 effects. Another great interactive music video for ‘The Wilderness Downtown’ by Arcade Fire, which also acts as a showcase for Google’s browser Chrome. You enter your home town on the start screen and the music video plays whilst pop-up windows open displaying streetview and google maps follwing the running character in the music video – all as if the character is actually there in the scene. New events happen as the music plays all in time with the music. An interesting way to show a video and involve the audience into the emotional side of the song – all digitally – very creative.

Site promoting the Autumn / Winter 2010/11 collection of Lois Jeans. Interesting 3d interface, with 3d cubes constantly moving past to offer a nice sense of depth. With thumbnails of the latest clothes set into 3d triangles that constantly reorganise into new shapes – click on them to zoom in. Nice clean interface, well designed and works great.

Impressive new site of extreme sports brand Airwalk. Nicely designed with smooth transitions and good layout, importantly it is an example of what non-Flash sites can achieve – it may not be super amazing in terms of animation and transitions etc, however it is a good benchmark of what is possible!

Beautifully made educational game for the Science Museum of London, to help teach people about genetics. You basically create a ‘thing’ and interactive with it by feeding, grooming, and mating with other ‘things’ to create new creatures – which inherit features from their parents. You have to complete challenges to unlock new features and levels. Amazing Flash work, incredibly detailed, great sound, and well polished, feels like a nintendo game – an awful lot of fun too!

Love the way the background image turns into tags and the way they link through to each project. A very unique and creative way of exploring their work. Very cool!

I like the collection section where we can explore an endless canvas of photos from their collection, nice way of exploring whats on offer. Simple, clean, and effective – love the homepage and collection section.

Their case studies are arranged across the screen and each have tags with lines drawing from the tags to each project, all in all giving a detailed precise feel. The animations and transitions are smart & slick and the detail is very high, each project is tagged with the architects and loads of info. Really smart interface and design..
