Geox Amphibiox

By | @stinkdigital | No Comments

Site promoting Geox’s Amphibiox waterproof shoes – all through a first person tour of downtown Cherrapunjee one of the world’s rainiest places. You can control the tour through your mouse wheel to speed up/slow down the pace, clicking on one of the highlighted people will show you the show they wear – all through a really cool mouse as the camera style position. Really nice transitions between the sections and cool videos showing the various tests the shoes are put through.

RVLT Revolution

Nice site of RVLT clothing. Really nice design brought to life by cool animation and transitions. Love the homepage – dragging will slide off the components and re-arrange the layout when they re-appear, clicking on a section or item brings it in – love the way the text overlaps the image and the info overlay. Nice grid layout – really simple, fresh and clean.

Lexus RX

By | @brandstudio, WEBSITES | No Comments

Another great Russian Lexus microsite. Featuring the ever popular parallax vertical scroll layout – really like the gaps between the sections and the interactivity in some of the sections – such as changing the wheel or the car moving with your mouse cursor position – lots of little elements of delight. The sliding menu on the right panel is intuitive and works well – although always scrolling downwards can be a bit disorientating. Design is great, slick, elegant and simple makes the car visuals pop out, really nice well considered site with lots of cool interactivity.

Dubfire

Site of musical outfit Dubfire. Featuring an explorable semi-3d interface with cubes revealing news items, tour details and so on. Loads of cool interface design, animations and transitions bring the whole minimal design to life – especially the feeling of depth, amplified when you use flat colours. Really well crafted site, looks modern and clean – animations super slick tie it all together. Really nice…

Christian Mezöfi

By | @ChristianMezofi, WEBSITES | No Comments

Slick and elegant portfolio of Christian Mezöfi art director and designer. Really minimal layout highlighting visually the range of projects he has worked on. Love the way when changing between projects the layout slides down to visually and mentally see the transition to a new section – so essentially you can view the whole portfolio effortlessly – nice touch. Some really great work in there too…

Les Revenants

By | @BETCParis, WEBSITES | No Comments

Canal+ site promoting new series Les Revenants – again with the 360 drag to view mechanism. What I really like here is the feeling of depth and quality of the scenes, it really feels very immersive. You explore various locations and meet some of the characters from the series – the way they have placed video inside the scene is fantastic – with characters closer to you appearing closer with a kind of parallax effect. Really well crafted and fun to explore…

Woodwork

By | @UncleDane | No Comments

Portfolio of Dutch VFX and film agency Woodwork. Love the way the projects appear and slide in and out, clicking one expands that section and allows you to scroll through the details for that item. Scroll along left and right too see more projects. I like that viewing each project doesn’t take you away from the homepage just expands upon it. Nice animations and very clean and clear layout.

Consumer Barometer

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

For something as dry as Consumer statistics – this site does a fantastic job. You can browse popular statistics such as % of people per country with access to internet, to creating your own graphs and diagrams via an intuitive interface – all internet stats. I love the subtle animations and interactivity – bouncing spheres, animated transitions – really brings it all alive. It looks good too with a subtle colour palette and clear layout.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Simple campaign site for Eastpak bags. Posing the question ‘when was the last time you did something for the first time?’ and offering suggestions, playing full size video and small interactive experiences like Google street view to explore a mythical place and so on. After a couple of questions the you are prompted to enter a suggestion to go on their ‘experience wall’. Every time you visit the site you get a new set of videos and questions. Nice transitions, design  and a bit of simple fun.

FOB – Paris

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Site of FOB a premium pocket watch maker aimed at the fashion world. Very simple site full of nice transitions and full bleed imagery and bold typography. I really like the movement as you traverse each section of the site – the slow easing into position of elements. Nice layout and design too…

Gif Me More Party

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Loving this site – going back to interactive experiences – essentially a pool party where you can choose your view through characters such as volleyball girl, skater guy, pizza guy, and so on – there are some 50 characters. It is really simple and fun, watching the party unfold through the eyes of all the characters – click on any of the characters at any time and see whats going on. It is set out much like a game with achievements like ‘dancing with the pool girls’ and so on, which activate additional content. Love the fun design and its simple fun purpose.

Scripturae

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Allowing you to explore old scriptures to show the history of typography. Some innovative navigation and layout allowing you to explore essentially lots of the same thing – but in an interesting and exploratory way. I like how you get an overview of a script which offers highlights before you explore it zoomed in. Really nice and a pleasure to explore.

ALB – Golden Chains

By | WEBSITES | No Comments

Fun interactive music video for ALB and the track ‘Golden Chains’. Love the idea here – young upcoming artist selling items from the video on eBay and so on – as the video progresses he pushes and throws his belongings out of the video screen and they end up as other windows. Small bits of fun for example at one stage he throws his NES gun which starts a mini version of duck hunt – shoot the ducks to resume the video! All great fun…
