Site for Japanese ad agency Hotchkiss. Love the 3D tiles that shuffle and move as you scroll – really interesting way of presenting thumbnails and projects. Shame it doesn’t filter down into the project view. Nice clean minimal UI and layout that lets the content do the talking.

Love the detail and mood – from the design through to the audio design – the exploratory/surreal feel is drenched in atmosphere. Great to see work like this.

Lovely update to digital agency Active Theory. Nice approach to the homepage – full screen case study video clips cycle through their latest projects. Dive into the work and find a similar setup – screen captures and videos – letting you see the magic. Love the slide out projects menu on the right, fantastic scrolling effect where the mask moves quicker over the underlaying image. The site is full of detail and great interactions, animations, and transitions – love the peeking strips on projects on the project view – the main menu features a cool 3D logo – lots of cool particle rollover effects. Great attention to detail and a fantastic example of a modern, fresh and beautifully executed site.

Rich immersive audio and visual experience highlighting the vessels Greenpeace uses and has used over the past 40 years. Love the look and feel for the site, from the rotating reel acting as the menu to the technique used to show inside the ships – the site is full of delightful details. It works really nicely on mobile too, from the menu to the map view – all works and looks great.

Site promoting the US Army and recruitment for STEM capabilities (science, technology, engineering, math). With a futuristic 3D look and feel you can play a series of challenges that map back to STEM such as guiding a drone over a landscape, decrypting codes and so on. Execution is superb, with the whole world rendered in 3D – landscapes, details, and interactions – the ‘path clearing’ is a great example. Love the look and feel of the site – very impressive, and it also works nicely on mobile.

Beautiful 3D musical experience for band Helios and their new album Yume. Drag around the various 3D shapes to mix various elements from the tracks in the album. Different scenes have different music, love the way when you add bass or drums the landscape reacts – either in a sound reactive vibration or adding new 3D shapes into the mix. Site is minimal and simple which allows the music to take centre stage, a really beautiful and thoughtful site.
