Mexican site promoting Rexona and it’s range of deoderants for men. With each product featuring a 3d scene personifying that product – really cool 3d parallax – with an option to see it with 3d glasses too. Not much more than that – but the effect is really great and the rest of the animation, transitions and so on are spot on very nicely made.

The official site for Fox Searchlight’s new film Martha Marcy May Marlene. Finally a recent film release that has an experiential site – sounds, 3d planes, strange video – all nicely put together to create a fun to explore site. A portrait of the main character is exploded into 3d images which merge together to create words and video clips from the film. Well made and imagined, I really like the way videos are presented and the way the 3d images move around to create words – really nice.
Site promoting Australian merino wool. Nicely made with a fun 3d interface with a large woolen globe with knitting sticks representing the sent in photographs featuring people wearing wool from all over the world. Nice look and feel with a minimal design – fun to play around with.

Beautiful site promoting Nissan’s ideas of a zero emissions future. Featuring an interactive 3d world full of cute characters featuring interactive demos of how renewable energy can be used, all through the control of a small plug like character – you explore the world as you wish. Very similar to the stunning ‘Ecodazoo’, it is in fact directed by the same guy ROKIX. I love the way you control the main character and the 3d world is beautifully realised as are the characters. Incredible attention to detail and amazingly crafted and fun to use – all in all amazing.
Site for new French action show ‘XIII’ made be Canal+. Although it is simply a video introduction to the show, the videos are slightly interactive and it all has a nice 3D parallax effect which is fun to play with. Strong black and white design and a nice little site.

Groundbreaking site promoting Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi’s new album ROME, an interactive 3d music video. This is the future of immersive web technologies, lately several sites have used WebGL to power 3d web based experiences – so far this is the best and most creative use I have seen. Directed by the talented Chris Milk, who previously also worked on the ‘The Wilderness Downtown’ project, amongst others. In joint conjunction with Google to also promote the Chrome browser – it works best in Chrome – sadly not at all in some browsers.
Mixing drawn scenes, video, music and 3d elements – it is one of the most immersive cinematic sites I have ever seen. You control your perspective in each scene, viewing through the eyes of the main character. In several scenes such as driving through the crumbling city, where you point your mouse 3d animated objects come flying out of the walls. It is not just the execution but the entire idea and the scenes, music, everything really – it is quite beautifully realised. There is even a section where you can add your own created objects into one of the scenes, so it is constantly evolving – the detail and thought into this all is truly staggering.
It reminds me of the days of the internet when people were making sites for the sheer interactive experience of it all, to push the boundaries and try new things that have yet to be seen. In some ways it reminds me of the also groundbreaking site of the film, ‘Requiem for a Dream’. This is truly inspiring unforgettable experience, coupled with fast, smooth, ground breaking technology this is a landmark website.

Site of Scandinavian agency hellodave! Set in a slick dark interface with 3d panels flying around moving with your cursor. By clicking on the thumbnails all of the panels reorganise to show a video player for that project. Really nice animations and transitions – love the camera movement with your mouse – it is very very smooth, and the shading and lighting is well executed. Very nice…
Beautiful website promoting the release of an album collaboration of Dangermouse, Sparklehorse, and David Lynch. Set in a dark 3d world, where exploration is the key, a card pop up interface unfolds before you. By dragging parts of the cardboard world you reveal content, new imagery, video, and sounds from the album. I love the way you explore, clicking and dragging forwards zooms in/out, and dragging left / right pans around. The lighting also changes with the depth of your viewpoint, and it changes on the cardboard pieces that you drag around – really incredible attention to detail. The feeling of depth is incredible, giving a great sense of ambience and setting a fascinating scene. The setting is fantastic, it works like a charm, and it looks stunning, really refreshing work…

Site promoting the new TV series about ‘Carlos’ a terrorist. Follow the trail of Carlos throughout the world and see where key events happened. Really slick site with incredible execution throughout. Love the 3d globe, clicking zooms in to various locations, similar to Google Earth, to give a montage of material about the event with press clippings, video clips, and so on. The montage itself is nicely laid out and you can pan your view around to reveal more items giving each location a back story. The level of detail is quite incredible, with seamless transitions from the 3d globe to the end scene, well designed, amazing animation and polish, really great work…
