Wicked portfolio of Toronto based digital agency JAM3. Using very cool transitions and an interesting particle based 3d effect, every part of this site is slick and smooth. All the interactions have been carefully designed and animated, I love the transition between the projects and section with your view zooming around and the interface building and disappearing, all so detailed. Really great, modern and fresh portfolio showing what Flash can do.

Great site promoting Nike’s competition ‘Chosen Series’ a competition for amateur snowboarders spread across various resorts in Europe. Using a hybrid Flash template for the homepage and I love the very cool transitions between the stages. Nice layout and attention to detail, looks great and fantastic animation. Great to see a blend of the best technologies used in such a good way.
Interesting site for Uniqlo – showing what has been happening in NYC to promote Uniqlo’s presence in NYC. Featuring a large scrollable map full of activity with short videos highlighting what has been happening in the city. You can also see videos of each store and explore a grid of all the videos. Really like the map and the activity it shows, all set in time to a drum like beat, again I like the sit back and watch quality of this kind of thing – it is interesting just to watch. Nice transitions and animation – all in all very cool.

Site for Honda supporting launch of the new Civic. A play on Google’s street view, except for exploring the streets you explore ‘off the grid’ locations – such as canyons, underwater art galleries, and so on. All filmed from a 360 degree camera system walking – you can click and drag to change your view as the scene unfolds – very cool. The scenes are magical and sound, music, and voiceover all adds to the ambience, really nice.

Portfolio for photographer Dean West with a slick interface. Love the scrolling through the thumbnails, a rich tapestry of photographs scrolling at different speeds gives a great feeling of depth and movement. A really nice portfolio site, well made and easy to use, slick, and fantastic transitions.

Beautiful site combining drawn scenes and jazz, the music animating the drawing scenes of China – promoting a jazz album ‘Chinese Soul’. The lines vibrate with the music in turn drawing the lines with the scene panning as the lines are drawn. I love the thought that music can draw a scene in your mind and give a mood, a feeling – very simple and beautifully made. Fantastic.

Site for Honda Japan featuring info graphics and data about road journeys in Japan. These are all visualised using coloured dots and smoothly animated and shown like a slideshow. Information such as current traffic and weather conditions is shown all in an informative and interesting way. Love the way the dots all move around to form the visuals. Minimal layout and look and feel but the animations and slideshow are really nice, great way of showing information in an dynamic and visually interesting way.
A simple micro site giving people the chance to explore the new Nissan JUKE. Using the latest Flash 11 hardware accelerated 3D effects, you are presented with a detailed 3d model of the car – placed in a neutral setting you can walk around the car, change colour, get in and out of the car – all from first person perspective. Very simple and fun, I love the way the colour of the car changes and the simplicity of interaction with the car and the environment – dragging the doors open and sitting inside the car – all incredibly immersive. Very well executed, the 3d is fast and smooth and the site is polished – very very cool.

Constantly amazed by the quality and innovation of Uniqlo micro sites. This one for Japan involves a cute 3d scene – your mouse controlling the rotation of the scene. Animated to the music and the scene is brought to life, objects fall using parachutes to the ground and a whole pile of things litter the floor. You scroll through the site as you do the angle of the 3d view changes and it highlights the differing depths of the scene. Lovely parallax effect and real feel of depth and cool animation – fantastic, not sure what the site is all about but the execution is amazing.

Beautiful site for the Danish Hair & Makeup artist Sidsel Marie Bøg. Featuring a fresh and crisp layout and navigation I haven’t seen before. Nice slideshow fullscreen imagery fills the background, love the rollovers on the sections, where images appear for that section. The section where you view the images utilises a really nice scrolling system. Overall a stunning site that really shows how to showcase a great creative portfolio of imagery. Fantastic…

Really nice and fun site for Volkswagen’s beetle in Japan. Simple premise – people customising the colour and pattern of the car – all shown in a dynamic and scrolling slideshow manner. You can create your own of course, this is also nicely done and very simple. Really smooth and fast animations and transitions, nicely made and typically Japanese styling bit of an old school concept though but fun nonetheless.
Fun upbeat site promoting Aldo’s A/W 2011 range of footwear. Simple promotion – play 3 short games – i.e. pick a lucky shoe, and if you win all 3 you get a discount and might win ‘shoes for life’. Really simple site, but a lot of fun – brought to life by sound, music, and animation. Nicely put together and designed with a real emphasis on an upbeat and fun look and feel.
Site for the 54th International Festival of Contemporary Music held in Warsaw. Love the way you can make your own composition from the various sounds of the homepage, when it plays shapes and colours appear around the centre responding to the sound waves made – very cool. Nicely minimal lay out and look and feel, with a fun interface, nice.

Beautiful site promoting Nespresso’s new Dhjana coffee blend from sustainable sources. You discover the sources of the coffee panning around the scene. Full of stunning animations and smooth transitions, the site is brought to life. It looks fantastic, full of polish and well designed, amount of detail is incredible from the smallest of animations to buttons and so on. There is also a great soundtrack – it is full of sound – which really ties it all together. Really beautiful…
