Collating social media posts from Land Rover owners and drivers, mapping it and classifying it into an exploratory interface. Love the visual treatment of the map and minimal interface, filter by tag or just explore all the posts. Nicely crafted with interactions and transitions that add to the experience.

Short and sweet promo for Air BnB showing a globe with all the Air BnB activity going on today. Love the 3d globe with lots of nice little animations of people checking in, snippets about certain locations, and geo located tweets with their #OneLessStranger tag. Nice little branding piece that just highlights how global Air BnB is – it looks nice and matches the style of the newly rebranded Air BnB.

Lovely site for Google Street view, best explained on the site: “an immersive journey through lively Cours Julien, a neighbourhood of Marseille famous for its unique atmosphere and street art. Listening to your guides Julie and Christophe, you can wander around the vibrant streets as if you were really there, thanks to 360-degree panoramas that we captured at night.” Really nicely realised and crafted, like the streetview you are used to but with the the additional hotspots and tools to really explore the neighbourhood. Love the sound design too, as you pass bars you hear the business and the autoplay commentary really adds a nice dimension to the experience.

Interesting idea – to take the an Ibis Hotel bed to the summit of ‘Devil’s Mountain’ for the ultimate night’s sleep. Following a format of a travel / expedition short film – with an interactive timeline, extras and a really cool 3d map. It is a surprisingly sophisticated interactive experience considering the client and subject matter – with loads of transitions / sliding panels / and cool animations. A fantastic example of a modern, sophisticated interactive film.

Lovely site for the photography of Thomas Ciszewski. Love the large typography and large photography – loads of slick transitions and a lovely feeling of consideration. The minimal layout lets the photos pop, and the fullscreen mode is fantastic. There is also a quick view for the projects offering a more zoomed out view of the work. Very slick.

The Chase 360

Site promoting Volvo Trucks, and their proposition that their trucks are agile and quick in challenging built up scenarios – all shown through being chased by bulls in the Spanish town of Ciudad Rodrigo. Your view starts from the back of the Volvo truck and you can click and drag the camera around to pan your view around the scene. Swapping cameras is on the right side of the screen where you can change out your view and even see a map of the town and the route. The stats are quite incredible, some 28 cameras and 250 film crew, the detail is amazing. Even for a new car launch this would be incredible, but to promote a truck makes it even more remarkable – really nice.

Lovely site ‘This Place’, described as “Everyone has a special place–a spot on earth you hold close to your heart. Like the town where you grew up or met the one you love. The cove where you learned to surf. The secret mountain hideaway where you go to find yourself.” In this first version, the coast of Oregon is explored through quotes and photography. Lots of lovely videos and photography – and a unique way of going through the photos as you scroll down – it all happens within the mask of the image – a really nice touch. Lovely typography and layout – really nicely designed and lots of nice touches, animations and transitions. And its even responsive as well!

Competition setup by Heineken to win 2 intercontinental tickets to any destination of your choosing. All you have to do is submit a photo taken abroad with a bottle of Heineken somewhere in the image. The site housing of all is this is quite a technical feat, a fully 3d globe with night / day, rotation, bump mapping – the attention to detail is incredible! You can zoom in / out, see all the individual photos etc, all presented in a nice way. Loads of cool transitions and animations bringing it all to life – from planes tracking the distance to Amsterdam, to statistics on the amount of photos and locations – all really in depth a fun to explore.

Lovely site for Escape Flight – a search engine for last minute weekend flights for trips abroad. With useful filters such as ‘weather’, ‘culture’, ‘food’, and ‘hidden-gem’ – all aimed at making this a really simple, intuitive way of finding a flight. Really slick animations and transitions everywhere, and lovely design – and great typography. Easy to use and very visual, very modern, very slick.
